Watchpost: optional entity-backed interface
This original local command interface demonstrates the separate InterfaceForgeMass bridge. It requires InterfaceForge, InterfaceForgeMass and a separately installed compatible MassForge0.2 SDK. It does not include MassForge code or reference game content. The default ForgeExamples project remains the independent menu/RTS/RPG sample.
Run
- Install MassForge into this project's
Plugins/MassForgefolder. InterfaceForge and its optional bridge are discovered through the project's relative plugin directories. - Generate project files and build ForgeMassExamplesEditor, Win64 Development, with UE5.8. Open
ForgeMassExamples.uprojectand play/Game/Maps/Watchpost. - Select Lyra or Orin. Hold consumes15 health; Ward restores20. Withdraw removes the represented entity and scout. Reinforce creates a new entity generation and reconnects the existing UI entry. These are local demonstration actions, not a combat or network authority system.
Mouse and keyboard operate the command buttons. The public CommonUI navigation and InterfaceForge input presentation apply to this saved Blueprint screen. Physical controller testing is deferred; software routing alone does not certify device support.
Launch with -IFMassStandalone to use mutable local presentation models with the same screen and entries. This compares data providers inside the optional host; it does not remove its plugin dependencies. Use the default ForgeExamples project to run without MassForge installed.
Customize in Blueprint
/Game/UI/WBP_Watchpost derives from IFScreen. Its On Initialized assigns the live SelectLyra button to Initial Focus. On Activated → Get UI Model (Lyra, Orin, Summary) → Initialize Entry binds three readouts. Each command's On Button Base Clicked → Request UI Action sends its action name to the screen's provider.
/Game/UI/WBP_WatchpostReadout derives from IFEntryWidget. On Entry Refreshed → Entry Data → Cast To IFPresentationData reads Title/Detail/Fraction. Set Text updates IFText children; Set Fraction updates Forge Progress. Change the Designer tree, typography, bar style or graphs without editing plugin source. Initialization and later entity updates use the same stable presentation object.
The screen keeps its heading and two-column commands fixed while compact status readings scroll. On Preferences Updated → Break IFUIPreferences → UIScale/TextScale >1.05 → OR → Branch → Set Anchors expands the panel when text or UI is enlarged. Selection buttons also use Scroll Widget Into View to reveal their chosen reading without moving command focus. This is ordinary Blueprint layout customization; the backend does not position widgets.
Replace the theme passed to Set Theme or use individual widget Theme Override properties. In your project's Blueprint controller, pass a replacement screen class to Push Screen for another composition. This tiny example's native controller uses the saved Watchpost class as its default. A different project supplies its own IFDataSource implementation; the screen does not cast to this example controller.
The source/material/schema/map authoring helper is a development maintenance tool. Saved assets ship with the example; normal use does not require executing Python or generating widgets.
See Docs/BLUEPRINT_MASS_ADAPTER.md for adapter lifecycle, busy/invalid states, explicit world context and optional action forwarding. Runtime results and supported boundaries are recorded under Evidence; this sample does not claim multiplayer, physical controller, mobile, console or broad SDK-version verification.
